Lucas mayor honors dispatchers and fire crew for saving resident's life

Mayor Dusty Kuykendall read a proclamation on April 17 recognizing the March 23, 2024, 911 response that led to the resuscitation of Danny Evans. The proclamation named City of Wylie public safety communications dispatchers Carson Knight and Robin Livingston and credited Lucas Fire Rescue personnel — Captain Paramedic Sean Peterson, Engineer Paramedic Anthony Aguiaga, Firefighter Paramedic Jason/Jackson Kurtz, Firefighter EMT Zach Winans, and Fire Chief Ted Stevens — with providing advanced life support that helped save the patient's life.
Kuykendall presented medallions and certificates at the dais and invited Chief Ted Stevens and other crew members forward. “Congratulations. I wanna stand and applaud,” Kuykendall said after reading the proclamation. Council noted the department will offer a free CPR class on May 3 at the Lucas Fire Station and encouraged residents to learn CPR and other life‑saving techniques.
