Committee discussion emphasized safety and durability: the chair highlighted concerns about foul balls in high-traffic game areas and asked staff to include netting over batting cages and the quad in risk-management planning. The staff presentation noted additional items flagged by the survey such as concrete repairs and other safety features intended to improve usability on game days.
The update indicated OPAA would supply some funding and that city staff will follow required permitting and review steps before returning with a formal plan and timeline. No formal vote or appropriation occurred during the meeting.
