Winona Park playground equipment in place; communication board donation arriving

Bay City Parks staff reported that the Winona Park playground has received new toddler equipment, sensory elements and stepping-stone features and that a remaining border fix and eventual fencing will complete the project. "They added in some toddler equipment... a wall with some sensory stuff on it, and 3 little turtle stepping stones, and a little tunnel thing for kids for toddlers and stuff to play in," the staff member said.

Staff also said a communication board funded by Xavier DeGrow of an autism clinic in Frankenmuth has been fully funded and is being delivered; staff will confirm whether the donated board will replace a planned playground board or be installed in another location and will coordinate with the chamber and funders on any ceremonial events tied to the donation.
