Westwood board elects Cheryl Bell president, Emery vice president

At its Jan. 6 organizational meeting the Westwood Community School District Board unanimously elected Trustee Cheryl Bell as board president, Timothy Emery as vice president, Roderick Means as treasurer and Sarah Ward as secretary; all motions passed 6-0.
The Westwood Community School District Board of Education elected Trustee Cheryl Bell as Board President at its organizational meeting on Jan. 6, 2026. The nomination by Trustee Roderick Means, seconded by Trustee Timothy Emery, was returned as a unanimous ballot and the meeting was turned over to President Bell to continue proceedings.
Trustee Timothy Emery was elected Board Vice President after a nomination from Trustee Angela Hopkins that was seconded by Trustee Roderick Means; Trustee Roderick Means was elected Treasurer following a nomination from Vice President Emery; and Trustee Sarah Ward was elected Board Secretary after a nomination from Treasurer Roderick Means. All officer elections passed by unanimous votes of 6-0. The meeting record lists Trustee Donald Willis as absent.
