Bay City Parks staff told the Parks Advisory Committee the Parrot Park groundbreaking is scheduled for Aug. 17 at 4:00 p.m. and that logistics — media outreach, a banner and the ribbon-cutting — are being finalized. "But we got the date and time, 04:00, August 17," the staff member said.
Committee members discussed whether the chamber should be asked to run the ribbon-cutting and whether grant funders should be listed on the banner; staff said they would follow up after a planning meeting scheduled for Aug. 3. The group also discussed potential speaking roles for the city manager or mayor and options for a locally produced banner to keep costs modest. A follow-up staff meeting on Aug. 3 will firm up speakers, media coordination and final signage.
