The commissioner said the team prefers the newest option after multiple iterations and highlighted that retaining an existing low area/detention feature will reduce earthwork and cut construction costs.
The visit focused on circulation, internal layout and minimal community uses. The commissioner noted crew parking, secure crew access, and a maintenance area for trailers are included in the plan, and that the design includes dorm-like bunk rooms, storage and training space. "I think it looks pretty well designed to me," the commissioner said. The group agreed to run a virtual walkthrough to firm up roof slopes and final elevations before moving to detailed construction documents.
