Muncie Board approves street closure for Muncie Central homecoming parade on Sept. 18

Justin Oliver, representing Muncie Central, told the board, "Our homecoming's gonna be on the 18th this year, September 18 against Marion," and described the planned route: the procession will leave the school, travel to the roundabout, return on Mulberry, cut over on Weiser and come back to the school on Walnut. He said MPD had worked out traffic control on side streets and that ROTC typically marches the route.
Board members moved and seconded the closure request; the board approved the motion by voice vote. Organizers also said the football team now rides a tow truck during the parade and cheerleaders ride the fire department's ladder truck. No additional permits or conditions were recorded in the transcript.
