District administrators presented updates to the strategic plan, highlighting personnel and program shifts slated for the coming school year.
Superintendent Okerlund reported updates such as counselor-position changes in secondary, expansion of hybrid course options, and plans to introduce social-emotional learning (SEL) in grades 3-5. The staff development committee will meet in August and AESP evaluation documents were revised to be position-specific and moved toward digital personnel files once HR is hired. Administration also said long-term maintenance needs will be prioritized and lunch service organization will be adjusted, including a reconfigured salad bar and moving ala carte service to the concession stand to speed lines.
Board members noted the district will begin 4.0 negotiations in August seeking a three-year contract.
