The Albany Area Schools Board on May 14 approved a revised Fiscal Year 2025 budget and voted to reassign previously misallocated fund balances. Member Ronning moved to approve the revised FY2025 budget; Member Henkelman seconded the motion, and the board supported the change.
Board members also approved two specific recommitments of fund balance after staff clarified prior allocations: $465,000 will be moved to the curriculum fund (previously recorded to technology), and $125,000 will be moved to the technology fund (previously recorded to transportation). Member Dirkes moved the recommitments and Member Rueter seconded; the motion was recorded as supported by all present. The reallocations were presented as corrective accounting moves to align fund balances with intended uses going forward.
