Executive Director Dubahn told the board that a $1.03 million increase in salaries and benefits and approximately $778,000 in capital spending account for much of the $2.37 million increase in projected FY25 expenditures. The administration said some capital costs — including new elementary furniture — were funded through COVID relief dollars.
Board members asked for line-item detail on staff increases, substitutes and grant-funded positions that contributed to the higher personnel costs. Trustees requested follow-up materials showing which positions are ongoing budget obligations versus those paid temporarily with grant or COVID-relief funding.
