Recording Secretary Trudy E. Murry presented a voluntary holiday assistance form intended to streamline requests for help from Westwood families. The form asks for family name, address, number of children, clothing sizes and desired toys; copies are provided to community groups that request the information and those groups then contact the families they elect to assist.
The minutes list community organizations that have requested assistance data, including the Service Builders Foundation; the Weslyn A. Bennett Foundation; Inkster Task Force; Top Ladies of Distinction Michigan Metro Chapter; Inkster Coats for Kids; and Goodfellows. The purpose of the form, Murry said, is to prevent families from completing multiple, similar forms to receive holiday assistance.
