Elma schools: gyms refinished, fields seeded and playgrounds refreshed; gyms to reopen Aug. 1

Facilities lead Jeff (S4) gave a multi-part update on district facilities, saying fields have been seeded and fertilized, the gym floors have been refinished and the gyms will reopen on Aug. 1, and playgrounds received new engineered wood fiber. "The fields have been seeded and fertilized. The gym floors have been refinished. We will open the gyms on August 1, which will take some pressure off the 1 gym," Jeff said.
Jeff also reported that fire alarm testing is complete, custodial staff are preparing buildings for the new school year, and summer school is nearly finished. He credited custodial and maintenance staff and noted the PTA completed a project installing new hoops and balance beams at three main playgrounds. These are operational details: no formal board action was requested or taken during his report.
