Committee hears Jacobson update on streetscape, eyes mid‑August preliminary design

Chair said Jacobson's subcontractor was finishing traffic information and that the consultant expects to deliver a preliminary streetscape design in mid to late August. "They have been getting the final traffic information from their subcontractor... fully expect to have a preliminary design for us to take a look at in that mid to late August time frame," the Chair said.
Committee members discussed taking a 'quick‑build' approach with ConnDOT to test street changes temporarily, but the Chair cautioned that temporary elements are seasonal: "by October 31, any improvements have to be removed for the snowplots," limiting the testing window. The group agreed a preliminary design could be taken to ConnDOT and Rivercog and that the design stage will precede funding and full implementation.
