Plevna council declines paid online bill-pay option, citing cost and low demand

Clerk/Treasurer Ashley Bondell told the council that Black Mountain Software's (BMS) online pay option remains available but that the yearly quote was unchanged from the prior year. She said the town currently accepts cash, check and Venmo and that only a few residents ask about paying online.
Councilwoman Promise Miller asked whether Bondell thought online bill pay was worthwhile; Bondell said "there would probably be a handful of residents that would use online bill pay," but added she did not feel the extra cost was justified. Councilwoman Michele Gray raised concerns residents would be unwilling to pay a 3% transaction fee. The council unanimously decided not to move forward with the BMS Pay option at this time.
