Plevna to create utility account to track park sprinkler water use
Summary
Clerk/Treasurer Ashley Bondell will set up a zero-rate utility account attached to the park sprinkler meter so usage is recorded as 'billed' water rather than water loss; the council agreed to the change at its Sept. 18 meeting.

Clerk/Treasurer Ashley Bondell told the council she can create a utility billing account linked to the park sprinkler meter that would be set to a zero rate code and require monthly readings without producing a bill. Bondell said doing so would move the sprinkler usage from the town's tracked 'water loss' category into 'billed' water, improving accuracy in loss accounting.
Councilmembers agreed to the approach at the Sept. 18 meeting. The change is administrative and intended to produce more accurate water-tracking data; no fiscal vote or ordinance was required, and the minutes record consensus to create the account.
