Commissioner Rebecca L. Rockwell presented proposed amendments to R861-1A-43 to align the commission's electronic meeting rules with the 2024 Legislature's House Bill 36 (Open and Public Meetings Act). The amendments specify how a quorum is determined when all members attend remotely and provide a framework for holding meetings where all commissioners participate electronically.
"I move to submit the proposed amendments to R861-1A-43. Electronic Meetings Pursuant to Utah Code Ann. Section 52-4-207 to the Office of Administrative Rules for publication in the Utah State Bulletin," Commissioner Rockwell said. The commission took a roll call vote and the motion passed unanimously. The rule amendments will be published Oct. 15, 2024, with a mandatory public comment period ending Nov. 14, 2024, per the record.
