Grand County Coroner Tanya Bailey asked the board to authorize out‑of‑state travel for herself, her chief deputy and a full‑time employee to attend an entomology course in Phoenix in November that includes a certification exam. Bailey said the course is infrequent and important for time‑of‑death determinations and other forensic work; she also told commissioners that part‑time staff will provide coverage while the core team attends.
Bailey said the travel would be Nov. 7–10 (class Friday and Saturday, exam Sunday morning) and that the entomology certification lasts five years; the board moved to approve the request and authorized the chair to sign necessary documents. Bailey provided the names of the three staff who will attend: Tanya Bailey, Kendra Wilkinson and Cheyenne Min Chavez.
