Water/Wastewater Operator Samuel (Sam) Thielen showed council members photos of a leak on the town water tank and said he believed a rivet came loose during a recent wind storm. Sam noted the tank had been inspected in October and no leaks were recorded at that time. He also reported experience-card forms he submitted to qualify for licensing and that hinges for the tank hatch had arrived.
Mayor Gary Thielen said the warranty on the tank was for one year but that if he sends pictures and the tank serial number the company could help the town contact the appropriate repair vendor. He also said he planned to speak with Jade Boggs at the Insurance Store about whether an insurance claim would be appropriate. The council discussed whether to pursue a warranty repair or file a claim and requested staff follow up with photos and serial numbers to determine options.
The council did not take formal action at the meeting; follow-up is expected once warranty and insurance options are confirmed.
