Lisa explained how associated student body (ASB) funds and student enterprises are treated in the budget. “Student enterprises, that's gonna be our espresso, our garden sale, our greenhouse sales…This is money the kids have made that fit dinner general fund that may be used to buy the coffee and the syrups and all that stuff,” she said, describing how proceeds are used for supplies in following years.
She said ASB budgets are set by student clubs and rolled forward in the district’s four-year projection because future club activity is uncertain; staff therefore carries forward ASB balances with conservative assumptions. Board members acknowledged the explanation and had no substantive objections recorded on this item.
