Board accepts Big Valley as CMGC for EMS Station 1; directs site visit and proceeds with Option 4 design

Jeff Hickam, county project manager, recommended hiring Big Valley Construction as the CMGC for the new EMS Station 1 after interviews and background checks. "We found that they're probably the best fit for this project," Hickam said, and commissioners moved to accept the CMGC qualification and direct staff to enter into contract negotiations.
The Board reviewed five floor-plan concepts prepared by the design team and identified Option 4 as the preferred layout. Commissioners asked for an on-site visit to confirm circulation, access points and snow/drift considerations; the Board agreed to a contingent direction to proceed with Option 4 pending a noon site visit by available commissioners and key staff. Staff said next steps include geotechnical work, 3D modeling of the selected option and further design input from EMS operations before final approvals and development-plan reviews with the Town of Granby.
