Laurens County commissioners on July 21 approved a renewal of the county’s rental agreement with the State Properties Commission for the Driver’s License facility. County Administrator Bryan Rogers told the board staff had revised the State’s renewal agreement to include a 2% increase each year in the rental rate and to incorporate requested facility improvements.
Rogers said the State had requested painting, flooring improvements and light replacement at the facility. Commissioner Kevin Tanner moved to approve the revised rental agreement; Commissioner Trae Kemp seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board recorded no additional financial figures beyond the 2% annual increase noted in the meeting discussion.
County staff will implement the facility improvements as part of the agreement; no implementation timetable was included in the meeting record.
