The proposed Contemporary-style residence is large (approximately 11,299 sq ft house on a 78,736.55 sq ft lot) and follows a previous preliminary review in April.
Several neighbors spoke in favor of the design but asked the applicant to plant screening trees early in construction or provide different plantings (for example, adding shrubs along the street rather than only fencing). Landscape designer Kylie Schmidt proposed a phased planting approach to address near-term privacy concerns. Assistant Director Liz Ruess reminded the board that landscaping details are within the Administrative Planning approval process and that the Board could add a specific condition to address neighbors' concerns. Board member Yuvi Gill moved to continue the item until the Board can review a clear landscaping plan; the motion passed with one abstention (Neidig).
