Commission approves US Bank contract to modernize county disbursements, staff says rebates will offset costs
Summary
Hamilton County approved a five‑year contract authorizing US Bank to process ACH disbursements and procurement‑card transactions; staff told commissioners the contract will cost about $60,000 a year in service fees and could generate roughly $240,000 more in rebates compared with current processing.

County staff outlined a proposal to contract with US Bank to process electronic cash disbursements, procurement‑card transactions and procure associated services. "If we contract with US Bank, they will process them electronically for us through ACH transactions," a county finance representative said, explaining the vendor relationship and rebate mechanics.
Staff said the county would continue to issue procurement cards but that the vendor would handle processing and assume liability for fraudulent ACH transactions; commissioners sought clarification on security and rebate calculations before approving the resolution by roll call. The resolution also asked the county mayor to execute necessary contracts and included an amendment to adjust fiscal‑year 2027 budget lines to reflect an expected $240,000 in additional revenue and a $60,000 increase in expenditures.
