Council moves to memorialize $20,000 payment to Big John's, considers $75,000 roof assistance over five years

Separately, council members reviewed a request for a $75,000 commitment to cover a new roof at 714 North Walnut Street that the applicant proposed to receive as $15,000 a year over five years. Mr. Turner explained the five-year repayment schedule and said TIF taxes from the property should replenish the funds; council members emphasized job retention tied to a recent purchase of the building by Pacific Press Technologies. The item was moved forward for formal action in ordinance form.
