Aquatic center nears major milestones; gutter work and finishing scheduled for August

Mayor provided a progress report on the new aquatic center, detailing recent concrete and masonry work and a near-term schedule. He said floors, splash-pad piers and slide-tank walls are complete, rebar is being set and crews will "shoot the concrete" this week to form the pool walls and complete the bathhouse exterior.
"By the end of August, it will be full blown, building up, doing finish work, and, moving forward that way," the mayor said. He added the gutter installation is slated for the week of Aug. 10 and expected to take three to four weeks, after which decking and under-deck plumbing work will proceed. Council framed the project as on a fast schedule and thanked staff and contractors for rapid progress.
