Resident urges completion of Holdaway Road, asks councilmember to recuse

Mallory Walker, a resident of The Elms, used the public comment period to press the council to finish the Holdaway Road project with safety and timelines as priorities and to ask Councilmember Jake Holdaway to recuse from decisions related to the project. Walker described conduct at a prior meeting as unprofessional and said she did not believe Holdaway "has the skill or desire to be professional." "I am publicly asking Jake to recuse himself in this matter," she said, and asked the council to consider whether family ties to the land create a conflict.

Walker asked the council to prioritize sidewalks, correct road width and safer sightlines; she urged staff and council members to respond to resident safety concerns and to avoid repeated redesigns. The chair and other council members did not take an immediate recusal vote during the meeting; Walker was asked to submit remaining remarks in writing after the three‑minute public comment limit.
