Committee members moved beyond the elementary project to consider other campus needs, including junior-high roof work, staff-lot lighting and a potential bus-barn awning.
Staff said junior-high roofs are likely a next-summer project and that budgeting for phased roof replacements will be included in next year's budget. Members raised safety concerns about a poorly lit staff lot and the southeast corner near playgrounds; staff proposed either building-mounted LED fixtures or additional poles and noted electrical access points for mounting lights.
Other items discussed included replacing worn classroom furniture (staff suggested about 90 desks to replace three grade-level classrooms over time), reconsidering locker refinishing after a prior vendor's work failed, and adding an overhead awning at the bus barn to limit snow/ice exposure on buses.
No formal decisions were made; staff will add junior-high roofs, lighting and bus-barn options to the facilities wish list and include estimated costs for budget planning.
