City staff told council that the only dollar change to the mayor's draft since the July presentation was reinstating arts regrant funding at $159,135. The budget presenter said that figure is the single total dollar change included in the current draft.
Community members who spoke during public comment thanked council for restoring the funding and pointed to the program's outreach. Kimberly Fornes Wilson described the art program's regional draw and its work with other organizations, saying the gallery and outreach serve "3,300 individuals every year." Council members acknowledged the reinstatement and said the committee process and membership will be brought back for review in the fall.
