The Eldridge City Utility Board heard a brief electric-department report on recent service events and maintenance.
Staff said they received a call at about 9:10 a.m. on July 25 reporting no power at 190 Houston Blair Road; the outage was caused when a bird struck equipment and damaged three banks and two fuses, affecting six meters. Service was restored after field repairs that morning.
In a separate update, the electric crew finished power installation at Ivy Acres 3rd and installed the last street light pole the previous day. The utility also reported a hydraulic/pump issue on a small service bucket truck; a replacement pump (estimated cost about $790) was arranged and expected to return to service the following afternoon.
The board accepted the reports and noted staff would continue to monitor equipment and follow up on the truck repair timing.
