Committee debates whether leaks stem from parapet/coping or tuckpointing

During discussion of the elementary window and exterior-repair bid packages, committee members and contractors disagreed about the primary cause of the leaks. GRP's Scott Ingram said evidence in site photos pointed to parapet and coping failures and recommended roof-seam repairs and new metal coping; district staff and the representative from a prior bidder (Performance) emphasized masonry deterioration and tuckpointing in some areas.

Multiple committee members noted that the two companies inspected different portions of the building and therefore offered different remedies. One committee member summarized the distinction in the meeting: "They're like oranges and tangerines" — meaning the assessments address the same symptom (water entry) with different technical approaches. Members discussed whether to fix only problematic areas now or to invest in full-building tuckpointing later to avoid repeated future costs.
