Marion Brewer presented the nominees and their backgrounds. Peter C. Miller, introduced himself as a longtime county resident, educator and mentor. "My purpose is rooted in helping boys and men recognize their potential and strive to become active, productive members of our community," Miller said. The committee also heard from Calvin L. Osborne, who described his legal and regulatory experience and community service.
Dr. Sephora Miller, introduced from the audience, spoke in support of her husband Peter C. Miller and recounted examples of his mentoring and community involvement. Committee members moved the nominations favorably and recorded a 4-0 vote to forward the appointments to full Council for confirmation.
