The Wheeling Liquor Control Commission met before the regular board session and approved two special-event liquor licenses on Aug. 3.
Staff informed commissioners that the Hay Arrow Foundation had submitted a Class L application for an event at Atlantic Aviation, 1011 S. Wolf Road, on Aug. 29, 2026; staff recommended approval contingent on payment of all associated fees. Commissioners moved and approved the license by roll-call vote.
The commission also considered a Class I liquor license request from Saint Joseph the Worker Parish for a parish picnic on Sept. 6, 2026. Staff said there were no conditions for approval and the commission approved the request by roll-call vote.
Both approvals were completed by unanimous roll-call; commissioners present included Raffato, Krueger, Lang, Vito, Papantos and Vogel, with Chairperson Horker presiding.
