Wheeling board adopts stormwater master plan update, approves sidewalk and park‑fountain contracts

At the Aug. 3 meeting the Village of Wheeling approved a multi-item consent agenda that included a stormwater master plan update, a sidewalk replacement contract and a contract for construction management services on the Friendship Park Fountain project.

Clerk Brady read the consent items into the record. The board approved a one-year contract with Schroeder & Schroeder Inc. for the 2026 sidewalk replacement program in the amount of $118,750. The board also adopted the stormwater master plan update as the continuation of the village's plan to reduce local flooding. Additionally, trustees approved an agreement with Featherstone Inc. for construction management consulting services related to the Friendship Park Fountain project in the amount of $413,193 for fiscal year 2026–27.

Trustee Papantos later praised recent stormwater projects and thanked public works for their efforts after heavy rains, noting no reports of flooding and referencing the newly approved multi-year plan. These consent-agenda items passed together on a unanimous roll-call vote.
