Solomon Peters was elected president of the Claymont City Board of Education at the board’s organizational meeting on Jan. 12, 2026. Mrs. Cyndy Host moved to elect Peters and Ms. Martha Campbell seconded; the roll call vote recorded four yes votes and one abstention (Mr. Peters). Treasurer Kim Beckley then administered the Oath of Office for President to Mr. Peters.
The official roll call read: Mrs. Host, yes; Ms. Campbell, yes; Mrs. Grandison, yes; Mr. Peters, abstain; Mrs. Wolf, yes. The motion carried. The election and oath were recorded in the minutes as part of Item 25-004.
