Commission aims for public rollout of draft by end of summer; schedules extra meetings

Commissioners and staff agreed to accelerate work on the draft sub-area plan this summer and to expand outreach once the document is ready.
"The ideal situation would be that, by the end of the summer, we have something that we can take to the public," staff said, asking members to continue providing edits and to participate in neighborhood meetings. Members discussed SMART goals, setting intermediate milestones, and preparing a Gantt-style plan for action items and presentations.
To accommodate heavier summer work, members proposed moving to a biweekly meeting cadence; a motion was called and members voiced approval for the adjusted schedule with dates cited for July meetings. Staff will prepare meeting materials, track edits and schedule expert briefings to inform specific plan policies.
