Resident praises Bensonville Library and stormwater education programs

During public comment, Kaye praised community stormwater education efforts at the Bensonville Library and in local schools. She described the library as a “tiny, really incredible gem” that has conducted tree plantings, created a native-plant courtyard, hosted composting workshops and run a rain-barrel sale. She said the library planted 13 new trees this year and ran 29 STEM presentations over five weeks, reaching hundreds of students and staff.
Kaye thanked county staff and named county staff members for their assistance during flooding response and noted collaboration with Senator Curran’s staff and the sheriff on a medicine-collection event. “So a lot of great things going on for water quality here, and I thank you guys for your help,” she said. The chair thanked the commenter and acknowledged the role of local partners in community outreach.
