Jackie Berger, president and CEO of Naturally McHenry County, presented a year-to-date marketing report to the Cary Village Board on Aug. 4, saying the county's digital and earned-media work has driven measurable visits to downtown Cary businesses.
"So my name is Jackie Berger. I'm president and CEO of Naturally McHenry County," Berger said, then described marketing metrics for Cary. She told the board that "35% of all of our digital campaigns... featured Cary, which was a $16,000 value," and that county earned-media work produced more than $70,000 in return for partner investments. Berger discussed app-based visitor "check-in" trails, craft beverage and ice-cream trails, and other promotional efforts designed to bring people to downtown businesses.
Mayor Kownick thanked the tourism group for its work and noted the quick venue change and community turnout for a recent event that drew visitors to Cary. Berger said the partnership stretches the village's marketing dollars and that the tourism office will continue to highlight Cary businesses in upcoming campaigns.
