Mandan officials say July 3–4 celebrations drew record crowds; city highlights logistics and turnout

City events staff presented a recap of the July 3–4 celebrations, reporting high turnout and largely successful logistics. Matt Shenendorf said Art in the Park likely drew "anywhere from 8 to 10,000 people" on July 3 and described strong vendor sales.
Speaking about the pyromusical north of Mandan Bridal School, Shenendorf said the shoot site drew an estimated 5,000 people on site and another 4–5,000 in peripheral areas, noting the show used large shells choreographed to music. "I think we can safely say we knocked it out of the park for a America 2 50 celebration in Mandan for the 4th of July," he said. The parade had just over 100 entries; organizers reported an increase in road race registrations to just under 1,000, beating last year's 711.
Commissioners thanked volunteers, partnering agencies (Mandan PD, Fire Department, Morton County Emergency Management, Metro Ambulance) and property owners who provided staging and parking. Staff said planning for next year's events is already under discussion.
