Board reviews RFPs for Bright Beginnings campuses: playgrounds and furniture

Division staff described two procurement requests tied to the Bright Beginnings North and South campuses. The first request covers installation of 10 playgrounds (five per site) with an FY26 CIP allowance of $1.8 million; the playground design aligns with classroom quads so each learning area opens onto adjacent play spaces and includes adaptable features for students with special needs. "The division is interested in installing 10 playgrounds at the Bright Beginnings North and South campuses, 5 per site," staff said.
A second RFP seeks furnishings, fixtures and equipment for the two campuses with a budget allowance of $1.3 million and evaluation criteria including relevant experience, accessibility, quality and cost reasonableness. Staff recommended the board review the proposals and be prepared to award contracts on Aug. 18.
