Staff told the committee the masonry tuckpointing and repair at Charles Washington Hall is complete and came in under budget, and several capital items are progressing: the bucket truck has been ordered (long lead time) and the heavy-treats skate park is expected to start soon.
On the pool, staff said they expect final bid documents from Thrasher any day and, budgetarily, the project looks on track. "We expect to get this thing out to bid in January, February, start pushing during April," a staff member said, and added the realistic completion target is 2026 rather than 2025.
Committee members asked about contractor selection for the zoning/subdivision ordinance (staff said a contractor was chosen) and agreed to revisit capital classification decisions for items such as streetlight replacements (operating vs. capital).
