During the public-comment portion of the meeting, Warren congratulated Marla on a recent Philadelphia Inquirer story about her lawn-to-meadow conversion and asked about neighbor reactions and regulatory obstacles. Marla said the most time-consuming part was killing the existing grass, but once established the meadow received mostly positive feedback: "Once it was done...I had nothing but positive comments," she said.
Township staff announced that Montgomery County will conduct a lawn-to-meadow conversion workshop at the township building in September and invited the Environmental Advisory Council to partner on outreach. The exchange highlighted local interest in native plantings and neighborhood education on conversion timelines and expectations (for example, how a site can look untidy in initial months while vegetation establishes).
