County honors SkillsUSA and FFA students for state and national finishes

Worcester County commissioners recognized SkillsUSA and FFA students and advisers Aug. 4 for multiple state first-place finishes and national top-10 placements across robotics, agriculture sales, medical math, occupational health and safety, entrepreneurship and Teamworks competitions.
Commissioners paused regular business to recognize SkillsUSA and FFA students who placed at state and national contests. SkillsUSA representative Rick (S5) introduced winners and thanked county staff and advisers; multiple students were singled out for first-place state finishes and national top-10 placements. "When I say 7th in the nation, you're talking about 42 groups of kids teams that they're going against," S5 said, praising the students' achievements.
Students and advisers recognized included Haley Renshaw (agriculture sales), Connor Shuf (mobile robotics), Jessica Lou (medical math), Harper Hastings, Amelia Harper and Cali Bridal (occupational health and safety), and teams in entrepreneurship and Teamworks. One student noted personal goals and thanked the board for recognition.
