At the meeting the Rangely Town Council appointed Brenda Aarons to a two-year trustee term and approved motions to fill other trustee seats and swear them in when available.
The council approved resolution 2026-03 appointing Marybel Cox as town clerk and treasurer, and passed resolutions appointing Heather Cannon as municipal attorney and Karen Wilczek as municipal court judge. Council members also reviewed and approved committee assignments (utilities, finance & human resources, public safety, school foundation and Western Rio Blanco 911 board), asking new appointees to confirm preferences as needed.
Council members emphasized the desire to support new trustees during transition and indicated that committee rosters can be adjusted later. Motions to appoint and ratify the slate passed on voice votes during the session.
