The Sugar Grove Village Board voted to approve a resolution authorizing the purchase of replacement streetlight poles from City Electric. Staff told the board the inventory policy is intended to speed repairs after accidents or vehicle strikes, which can have three- to four-month lead times for new poles.
Brad Merkel, who presented the item, said the purchase is "just inventory," explaining the village keeps two of each style to reduce downtime after damage. Trustees moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by roll call after brief discussion. The board recorded the votes verbally at the meeting; the resolution was approved with all members present voting in favor.
