Council hears schedule for bridge work; staff prioritized avoiding school disruption

The presentation noted that the north abutment and off-bridge work lie on Benicia Unified School District property and that the Division of State Architect approved the portion of the project on school property. Staff described the north-end improvements as ADA‑compliant with 5% slopes to lead to the back of Mary Farmer Elementary School.
"This slide shows the prefabricated steel pedestrian bridge... The north end improvements... are built to be compliant with ADA standards as required by the division of state architect," the presenter said.
