Sesser-Valier Community Unit School District No. 196 Superintendent J. Henry opened a Truth in Taxation public hearing at 5:50 PM on Dec. 9, 2024, at the Sesser-Valier High School Library to accept comment on a proposed property tax levy increase. He said the board previously adopted a tentative levy in October 2024 that would raise operating funds by 10.00% and produce an overall levy increase of 9.37% including the debt service levy.
The board reviewed a copy of the November 2024 Treasurer's Report, which includes cash balances, and examined the FY25 3-Year Annual Average Operational Funds Expenditure Report during the hearing. Superintendent J. Henry asked for questions or public comment; none were offered. He closed the hearing at 5:52 PM. The hearing record was certified by the board president and board secretary as a true and accurate account of the meeting.
