Board says Durham School Services appears low bidder for transportation contract; contract review planned

Superintendent J. Henry told the Sesser‑Valier board that the district held a public bid opening on Dec. 2, 2024 for the FY26–FY28 student transportation contract. Two of three eligible bidders submitted bids and Durham School Services 'appears to be the low bidder,' Henry said; he planned to meet with Durham officials on Dec. 10 to review the bid and begin contract formation.
Henry told the board he anticipates bringing a finalized contract to the regular January 2025 board meeting for approval. The board did not vote on a transportation contract at the Dec. 9 meeting; the item was reported as part of the superintendent's report.
