The West Columbia city council unanimously adopted a resolution to adopt the Safe Streets for All safety action plan and to establish a long-term goal of eliminating roadway fatalities and serious injuries within the city.
Catherine Call, director of community development, presented the adoption item and the council approved the resolution by voice/hand vote. The plan’s consultants and staff will continue stakeholder coordination, pursue FHWA implementation grant funding through a Lexington County-led submission, and return to council with implementation steps and any required local match details.
