Committee approves HVAC routine-maintenance contract for Juvenile Court with 31.8% MWBE goal

Eddie Miller of Support Services presented the proposed HVAC routine maintenance and repair contract for the Juvenile Court building and described the arrangement as a service-warranty-style contract where contractors are called to perform repairs as needed.
Miller noted the facility's mechanical systems are mixed and that "the latest addition to that facility was in 2019 when a chiller was installed, which had a 5 year manufacturer warranty, which would have expired in 2024." EOC recommended a 31.8% MWBE goal for this nonprofessional support-services procurement based on available eligible vendors.
Doctor Hall moved to approve the MWBE goal and the committee voted in favor (Doctor Hall, James Gloucester and Commissioner Avant recorded as 'aye'). The committee will finalize contract documents and obtain signed copies.
