Gary Sims updated the board on ornament sales and fundraising efforts, saying he had ordered two ornament designs this year (a capital and a train depot) and was producing a 600‑unit run of a water‑tower ornament. “I'm only ordering, 600 of them this year because the governor usually buys a 150 from me,” Sims said, adding he would provide a paint sample on the back of ornaments and coordinate depot sales and brochures.
Sims and staff discussed logistics for selling inventory at the depot and at upcoming events; planning staff confirmed they had received and processed an invoice for depot ornament sales. Board members thanked Sims for the effort and discussed succession planning since this is his last year organizing the ornament program for the board.
